Interesting take on the rotary engine. Sounds like it's not quite ready, but the patent has been granted.

Interesting. I was just thinking about how they might improve the rotary. I was thinking about direct injection and maybe a different material for the seals.

nope nope nope. One of the huge advantages of rotary is how simple it is. This doesn't seem so simple. I doubt it will do well.

thats still way up from a wankel. but yeah, I hadn't read to that point when I posted that. Who knows. maybe it will be sweet.

Looking at the drawing it appears that it still requires running seals on the edges. Article says 'they have found a solution to the sealing problem' but doesn't go into detail. If that's true, it'd probably be best to apply their seal solution to a traditional design rather than this gear driven thing.

I'm not okay with this yet...LOTS of people showed concepts of Rotary engines that were apparently superior to the Wankel design in every aspects. They never happened. So until I see it running a car, I'll just say goodbye vaporware.
